SW Advice

Joined Slimming World for the second time in ten years on Thursday and managed to persuade my wife to come along as well. Last time on SW I was on the green and red days so I'm really looking forward to the Extra Easy thing.

I made a SW chicken curry tonight (Sat) which was not bad at all, in fact nice
enough to make again, which I'll definitely do. I have a little question though, if someone could kindly answer please..... I went over my Syn limit by one and half today. I'm not beating myself up about it but are Syns totted up for the day or can you spread them? For example, having gone over, can I adjust the balance by cutting back on another day or put another way, can you save Syns for a binge?

thanks,
fatty arbuckle

Hi there! Welcome to social slimmers! And back to SW also
I've given you your own thread so you can keep track of replies to your questions

Your allowance is 5-15 a day (usually more for gents) which would amount to 105 across 7 days.
So yes, you can count them across the week if you wish.
My main piece of advice regarding syns though, make sure you're using at least 5 each day.
If you have an event one night and you want to save some syns, you can do. But make sure you use a few each day. Only 5, but use those 5 every other day. Not using those 5 each day can lead to a binge, which is different to planning a night out etc.

The alternative option is to use the Flexible syns. For a night/meal out (or alternative plans) pick a syns limit and once you hit that limit, return to having only syn free things. You still use your normal daily allowance, so it doesn't promise a loss, but you are learning to change your relationship with food/drinks and being able to manage it better to avoid binges.
Binges can lead to a massive derailment off plan, which can be hard to pull back.

Hi Sarah and thanks for the welcome. Thanks also for the Syns advice and thread, sorry for the slip up! Re the saving for a binge thing, that was not the best way
of putting it. It was a clumsy way of asking how to manage my Syns. Thanks for the explanation and advice, it's much appreciated. Time for bed now I thinnk.

Hi Wobbles! I must say your weight loss and activity is impressive, at 75 I probably won't be doing any running. Need to shift some weight though just the same.
thanks for reply:-)
