Serves 4.
Ingredients
Meatballs:
50g Extra Lean Mince
1/2 Small Onion
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
1 Medium Egg
2 Garlic Cloves
Parsley
Salt & Pepper
Tomato Sauce:
400g Chopped Tomatoes (1 Tin)
1.5 Small Onion (use the half onion from the meatballs)
2 Cloves of Crushed Garlic
1 tbsp Tomato Puree
1/2 tsp Basil
1/2 tsp Oregano
1/2 tsp Granulated Sweetener
Salt & Pepper
Directions
Meatballs:
Grate the onion and put in a large bowl. Add the mince, cumin (evenly sprinkle) and garlic (crushed) and a couple of tablespoons of chopped parsley.
Break the egg into a cup and use a fork to break the yolk and beat it for a few seconds. Pour the egg in the bowl.
Use your hands to fuse all the ingredients together.
Roll mixture into balls. You should be able to make 18 meatballs (you don't want them too big).
Put the meatballs under the grill on a high heat and cook for 10 minutes. Halfway through when they start to brown and drip fat, turn them over.
Tomato Sauce:
While the meatballs are under the grill, put all the tomato sauce ingredients in a pan and heat until it starts boiling. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Once the meatballs are browned add them to the sauce, cover and continue to simmer for a further 10-15 minutes.
Serve with Pasta.
