How Can I Make it Through T-Day?

Hey guys. How can I make it through T-Day (that's what we call Thanksgiving) on Weight Watchers, trying to lose weight, etc.? Everyone keeps telling me to loosen up and not worry about it but I just recently started dieting (last month) and I haven't lost that much weight yet to really feel comfortable about having a "Who cares?" day.

I would save my weekly points for that day

I'm not on Weight Watchers, but I've been cutting back and eating even less than usual for the past few days so that tomorrow won't be so bad. I also plan to watch my portions so I can still enjoy the taste without overindulging.

I'm not on weight watchers other than sometimes eating some of their stuff, but having the same crisis of conscience. We don't have thanks giving over here but would imagine its the same as our Christmas dinner. Total over indulgence Not sure how I'm going to handle it. Think I'll probably fast for the week before which I guess is the same as saving WW points and then enjoy the meal and try to resist the chocolates and munchies that are about. It's a special occasion, if I slip then I still have my new years resolution to fall back on

Ditto to mamafy, save your points

Turkey is a low fat food. Have some turkey breast but skip the gravy. I'm sure there will be different vegetable dishes too. As for pie, just have a sliver and leave the crust. Don't deprive yourself, just don't eat until you're sick.

I think TwylaDee has the right of it -- try to enjoy the healthier options, like the turkey breast, and be very choosy about the not-so-healthy stuff. Maybe have one starchy side instead of all 3 or 4 (or more) that are usually served. Same thing with dessert -- just choose one and keep your serving small. Maybe even split servings with another person if you can. Those are some of the things I'll be doing, and I've also been saving all my weekly points for tomorrow. (I'm on WW, too.)

I would eat moderate amounts. As mentioned, turkey is low in fat. Don't go overboard but don't restrict yourself either. Have a good day

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all, and thanks for the input. I've managed to bank all of my weekly points so I think I should be good. I haven't done so well about working out this week, but hey, that's what this weekend is for, right?

You have to work out each day. So the answer is no, that is not what the weekend is for. How did you do on T day? I skipped the gravy and all desserts! I did great! Hope you did too.
