My biggest downfall this time of year is the raw cookie dough (cut-out cookies). We made a double batch of it about two hours ago. The problem is that you have to chill this dough overnight. I have already dipped into it twice. I don't mind the cookie dough that you bake right away. I curse cut-out cookies.
Christmas season is brutal when you're dieting. I've tried to change what cookies I make for people each year so they're less tempting, but it's so hard! I feel your pain.
I don't like raw cookie dough so that's one temptation I don't have to deal with. Depending on the type of dough, you may not be messing up your diet very much, though. Cut-out cookie dough is probably not that high in fat and calories.
I've never been a big fan of raw cookie dough. However, cookie dough ice cream is to die for. Luckily, I only buy that one time a year and it isn't Christmas. Good luck aboutme. We'll be pulling for you.
I did okay, only ate it three times. I now have around 100 cut-out cookies in the kitchen. They turned out amazing too. I could be in trouble. I think tomorrow I am making up several plates ok cookies for the neighbors.
I had this problem years ago but now I just love the smell of it. As crazy as it sounds just smelling it works for me. We are going to be baking for three whole days next week since extended family is coming into town, my house will smell amazing but I would be stuck in the naughty corner (at least for the dough that is).
