Hi I've figured out how to stop individual posts from emailing me instantly of updates, but I wondered if there is a setting that I can change to stop it defaulting to sending me emails.

If you go to Edit Options in your UserCP (Direct Link) 4 options down on that page is 'Default Thread Subscription Mode'.

There you can change 'Default Thread Subscription Mode' to 'No email notifications'.
