I've been debating buying a soup maker, would you recommend it?

Emma, I still haven't tried sweet potatoes - are they very sweet? I can't get my head round sweet mash! Was the soup sweet? It sounds lovely.

I made a leek soup today and it was lovely - usually make leek n potato but couldn't be bothered peeling potatoes! Leeks fried, added some garlic then veg stock and dried thyme. Very nice Joozzyjoo.

They are sweet compared to normal white potatoes, but not massively I don't think. They're very tasty though, and I don't think they're as 'heavy' as white potatoes either

I must stop being a baby and just try them...are they still free on a red day? I know they were 11 years ago and I never tried them then either!

I find sweet potatoes incredibly sweet. But they are packed full of good nutrition.

All sounds really nice, thanks! I love leeks so will give that a try.

Samantha 26, i would recommend a soup maker. My first attempt was cauli and broccoli but it kept cutting out - I had put too much in. I made the tomato and basil soup that came with the soup maker and it was gorgeous! You still have to prepare your veg (had to roast tomatoes, red onion and garlic) then put in the soup maker for 21 mins. It came out lovely. 😆

Has anyone tried speed tomato soup?

It's dead easy to make, just 2 tins of tomatoes (S), a tin of carrots (S), a tin of baked beans (P), 3 pickled onions (S), vegetable stock cube and half a pint of water. Simmer in a pot for 15mins and blend, that's it.

It sounds strange, but it actually tastes like Heinz tomato soup (well a bit anyway) and is great for lazy people like me.

Sounds lush! I've got some leftover shredded beef so I'm going to try a soup today with bolognese flavours, made with passata and herbs.

I bought the soup maker when it was in the SW Mag a while back, and must admit it's so easy to use, but then I never made soup before!
Today I made leek and potato made with sweet potato and was very nice. I always put some noodles in to bulk it out as not eating bread with it has been hard
