Log Cabin Sugar Free Syrup

I bought a bottle so I could add a little flavor to my oatmeal. The bottle boasts on the label that it has 80% fewer calories than the original.

The nutrition label says:

Total fat 0
Total carbs 6
Calories 20

The serving size is 1/4 cup/60 ml.

I didn't need to use even half of what they consider the serving size. I guess if it were being used on waffles or French toast you'd need that amount.

It tasted good mixed in with my oatmeal. It is fairly sweet. I tasted a little by itself and it had a different texture than regular syrup to me. The ingredients are pretty much only water, sorbitol as the artificial sweetener, "natural" flavoring, and cellulose gum as a thickener. I don't know if I would like it on anything else, but in the cereal it was nice.

I usually just put a little bit of brown sugar in my oatmeal or some fresh fruit. I don't care for the sugar free syrup because it is all chemical and tastes funny.

This is a great idea but I have not had the chance to try it yet. I know I should probably use less sugar when I eat syrup though. It can add up quick!

I have never heard of this before but I'm in the uk and we don't tend to get a lot of the same stuff over here

Oh, I am sorry! I didn't realize this wasn't available there. Do you have any types of sugar free syrups? The last sugar free syrup that I bought was a blueberry flavored one but I can't remember the brand name.
