Daft question re 'bits'

So I have tried to get into juicing/smoothies a few times in the past but I always end up dropping it because I just don't like 'bits' in my drinks. I know that a lot of the nutrients in fruit are in the skin, so if I juiced a load of stuff and then filtered out the bits, would I essentially be filtering out the healthiest and most beneficial part?

You would be losing a lot of really good nutrients by filtering it, but at the same time you would certainly still be getting some good nutrients. I am a big fan of juicing. What are you using that is leaving so many bits?

Technicality yes, but having a smoothie without the skin bits is better than not having one! I'm wondering what you're using to have bits left too though! I don't like fruit skin, so take it off even if I'm just eating an apple normally!

I've tried various things, but the worst 'bits' offenders are things with seeds, like berries. I'm the same with yoghurts - they have to be completely smooth (I'm SUCH a picky eater!) I also hate when orange juice has pulpy bits in it. I should probably grow up and just drink it, shouldn't I?!

I hate to say it but you might just want to experiment and try to chug the drink if you are having that much of a problem with it. That or try to blend it more, I hate that issue with strawberries recently and they have tiny bits but I still made it work.

I have the same problem with bits... I also hate pulp in orange juice. I just have to chug the drink and try to swallow the bits. I can't sip it or drink it thru a straw.. yuk!

But the bits are probably the most nutritious parts!

I don't mind juices or smoothies with bits. Did go through a phase of drinking lots of smoothies until someone mentioned that I'm eating a lot more sugar that I would normally (always though natural sugar was ok. obviously not ). Stands to reason... I did put on a bit of weight when I drank it like water

I actually love the 'bits' in my juice. It just makes me feel like I'm taking the real thing. I also like the 'bits' in yogurt and marmalade. I even add my own 'bits' to some things just to get that crunchy feeling.

I love the bits in orange juice, but not too keen on other bits! I avoid smoothies tbh as I hate that all shop bought ones taste like banana! Even if you get one that looks banana free it's still in there somewhere as a thickener! Too lazy to make my own
