Hey girls,

How do you work out the amount of calories (or syns) you should be having on a gym day?

Im doing SW and have between 5 and 15 Syns a day.. do i need to change this on a gym day to include more... or should I just stick to the same?

Cheers!

I have always been told that you need to eat more calories on gym days. Protein to be exact. Protein gives you energy and also helps with the post-workout calorie burn. You need energy to be able to give it your all at the gym.

Yes, I eat more calories on a gym day. I log my exercise with estimated calorie burn and then eat a little more food accordingly.

Tbh I think it depends on how much weight you need to lose, I would eat some of the calories burnt back, but not all if I were trying to shift quite a lot of weight, if I wasn't I would eat them all back

Well yes, you still need to account for weight loss but that doesn't mean you don't eat more on gym days. For example, if I want to lose a pound a week I need to eat a little over 1400 calories, which is a 500 calorie deficit for my current weight. If I go to the gym that day and burn 300 calories, then I can eat 1700 calories that day and still be at a 500 calorie deficit for the day. Does that make sense?

At one point I wasn't eating them back at all but on gym days I was more hungry so for a couple of weeks I did celebrity slim active then I just moved on to shakes on gym days to top up x
