Morning all,

So, I've been reading around the forum a bit and I guess I have some idea of this, but I wanted to ask you all a question (or two) to see what you really think...

What are the biggest frustrations that you find with losing weight? What is the hardest part? What is it that's really holding you back or what are the sticking points?

Would love to hear your thoughts and comments.

I think is more as a fear than a frustration ( that you start dieting and you don't lose the weight as fast as you wish / but you fell you suffer so much to achieve that and one more thing I think my biggest fear is the thought that I can never be normal again ( I mean every time I need to count my calories and think twice what I eat and drink ) Like now for example I was dieting for 1 month Sunday and I suppose to cheek my weight but I am afraid not to be disappointed , however I fell that I lost everything I was planing to but stii the fear is there. I don't know if u can understand that , but I wish I could make it a way of life this dieting but not so restrictive !

My biggest frustration so far has been working hard all week to step on the scales and finding my weight has increased. I know there are many factors that might contribute to this but you still can't help but feel disheartened when it happens

Hey dianad,

Nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your thoughts - I really appreciate it. And yes, I think I do understand. So to summarise:

- Fear of failure, especially after putting in so much effort
- Fear of not being able to eat normally again (constant dieting/effort)

Can I ask where your fear of failure comes from? Past experience? Experience of others? Something else?

Hi India,

Nice to meet you and thanks so much for replying. Ok, so you are working hard on you diet all week, only to find it has had no effect or things have got worse. I can understand how disheartening that is.

Can I ask what you are doing to try to lose weight?

Hello Iain. The hardest part for me when I first started out was not been able to eat the yummy foods that you have enjoyed your entire life. But after learning some DISCIPLINE it got a whole lot easier, now I have learnt to cut calories from my diet to keep my weight steady, which has lasted me 2 years so I'm happy.

Hy lain / yes you might be right my fears are coming from past experience , I manage to notice that I get the motivation to lose the weight most of the times but I can't manage to keep it off for a long time . If I don't go to the gim and I don't count my calories I put everything back on very very easily :-(
