Summer dieting, easier or harder?
It is easier for me to stick to my diet in the summer. We wear less clothes so that is a major incentive. It's hot, so I don't feel like eating as much as I do in the winter and I'm more active when it's warmer.
In the winter, it seems I go into hibernation mode and my body hangs onto every calorie that goes into it.
This is just he natural cycle of our bodies in the winter. Unfortunately, it means that we will gain weight and want to sleep more. Some people have vigorous diets and training methods in the winter but I'm not sure that I could stick with it.
I can agree with almost all of that. My problem is that when it gets too hot I am not motivated to do anything. The heat just wears me down.
Yes, it seems more common to eat less in the summer, for me too. I have more to do, I'm outside more often and the shorts remind me to stay on track! Plus, we make more salads and more hot weather foods, which just seem lighter.
I used to find it easier to diet in winter for some reason. I agree that it's hard to be motivated to exercise in summer though, but the hot weather does reduce your appetite a bit.
I love summer for the fresh vegetables from the garden. I will eat more salads and drink more water because of the heat and the work I do outside. For me it's the best time to diet.
I agree, summer dieting is much easier than winter when we want to eat to keep warm and out of boredom. I can't eat when I'm too warm and tend to stick to cooler foods, like salads and cold meats.
Less clothes means more body! That helps me to curb my appetite. I work out in an air conditioned gym. Once I step outside I feel like I will die!
I'm more motivated in summer, but it makes me lazy with cooking, mainly because I just want to sit outside! The last few days have been lovely and I've just wanted to sit outside!
Kids distracted me and I posted too soon! I've been really motivated diet wise though cos I'm wearing less clothes and tighter fitting things!
