Not eating enough protein

I've been logging what I eat through MyFitnessPal and I'm consistently having a hard time eating enough protein without eating too many carbs. I guess I didn't realize how much I was relying on milk for protein (instead of meat). I'm doing better these last few days but it feels weird eating a bit of meat at every meal, especially with breakfast. How do you guys get enough protein everyday and what am I overlooking, if anything?

I know it can be a bit of a challenge. I eat eggs for protein as well as fish. I'll add tuna fish to a salad. Chicken is a good one too, you can cook up breasts and throw them in a wrap or a salad for a quick protein hit.

How much protein are you aiming for daily? I'd put money on it that it's probably more than you actually need and you're probably getting more than you realise anyway! Most women need about 46g of protein a day, or between 0.8 and 1.8g per 1kg of bodyweight!

This link's really interesting and shows the other ways to add protein to your diet without meat. http://www.health.com/health/m/galle...718479,00.html even peas are a source of protein!

I don't eat any meat/fish and eat very limited dairy and get plenty of protein from plant based sources!

Some high protein foods:

Cottage cheese
Chicken
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Spinach
Strawberries
Sweet potatoes
Oatmeal
Almonds
Walnuts
Hazelnuts
Cashew nuts
Turkey
Eggs

PP is probably right though and you are having more than you think you are?

Awesome and thanks for sharing Wobbles! I didn't know strawberries were high in protein. I eat a lot of almonds and eggs. I get my protein this way. We also eat meat every day.

I think high enough, just foods I like as I looked up protein foods that I am allowed on detox. Not sure how high I admit but I believe a good choice where something nice and healthy comes into it (curb sweet cravings)!
