How many times do you eat in a day?

I know some people actually eat 4-5 very small portions throughout the day instead of eating 3 larger meals.

If you have tried both, which one do you prefer? I have tried both and I think I would rather eating three bigger portions rather than smaller ones throughout the day.

I've tried it every way possible, from eating 2 large meals to 3 slightly smaller meals to 4-6 mini-meals that are basically snacks. What works best for me is to eat 4 times a day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert right before bed. Breakfast will be small, lunch will be slightly larger, and dinner will be the largest meal of the day. Dessert will be something like fruit and milk, so it's basically a snack right before bed.

I don't do well just eating three times a day; I do a lot better with about 5 small meals. It can be hard at times to keep all 5 meals within a certain number of calories (basically one-fifth of your total for the day) but if I only eat three times, I feel like there's too much space between meals. I wind up starving and then I overeat at the next meal because I think, "Oh I'm so hungry... I need more food!"

I prefer to eat less frequently and have bigger portions at my meals. I generally have 3 meals a day and a light snack in late afternoon to hold me over until dinner.

I eat 3 meals breakfast lunch and dinner and either after lunch or dinner I will have a muller yog, sometimes both depending how hungry I am that day.

I tend to do a mix. I still eat lunch and dinner as full meals but sometimes I will break up my breakfast between snacking times. I notice if I can snack twice through the morning I do not get bogged down (feeling too full) and I get more done in the early hours too.

I aim for 3 meals but easily skip breakfast which isn't good!

For a while now, I have been on 3 meals. I space them out though. Usually like 4-5 hours apart.

I also eat my third meal, sometimes mainly as a snack before bed. A nice cereal with 2% milk knocks me out at night time, and I sleep like a baby!

I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and I then have a mid afternoon snack and a snack in the evening.
