Salad dressing

Salad dressing is my downfall. I love salads but my problem is with the dressing. I love creamy blue cheese, ranch style with buttermilk, or creamy Italian.
I've been trying to do better by using more vinaigrette style dressings but they lack that creaminess that I like on a salad and usually end up having the same amount of oil. I cheated and found a way around it. Before I put dressing on my salad I take a big spoonful of thick Greek yogurt and toss it around. Then I put on a little vinaigrette or balsamic type dressing.
It's good! I don't have to use as much of the oil based dressing and I've added calcium to my plate and given it that creamy texture.
I only use ranch but I know what you mean here. I have tried others in the past but nothing works for me unless it is ranch. I still use low calorie ranch which helps and I have been cutting back to. Last night was actually salad night in our house and I was very proud with how little I used!
Good call, I was gonna suggest any form of yogurt that would do the trick. I have moved to making my own salad dressing. Olive oil, some favorite balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and voila! You've got some tasty salad dressing.
You use Greek yogurt on salad? I will have to try that. Do you use a fruit flavored one or plain? I don't know if I would like this. I do love ranch dressing. I try to eat oil and vinegar or zesty Italian.
Ranch dressing used to be the only dressing I would eat, but I have since switched to a light Balsamic Vinaigrette for the calorie savings. I still miss my real ranch, though!
That sounds like a great idea. I love ranch dressing
