Tired after lunch

Hello all

Wondered if anyone had any good ideas as every day about 15 minutes after I have lunch I am just shattered. No energy at all and it's an effort to keep my eyes open.

I have tried having different things, cutting out carbs at lunch, eating just fruit, eating just salad. I'm just at a loss as to why I am crashing every day no matter what I eat.

Breakfast really doesn't affect me in the same way, so today I have eaten breakfast and am going to try and skip lunch - perhaps I should only have 2 good meals a day - and see if that works.

Thanks in advance for any advice you might have

My first thought was low carb lunch but it looks like you've tried that one. Do you have a good breakfast ? Are you getting enough sleep at night ?
I only go into a slump after lunch if I haven t slept enough, if I've had to heavy a meal or not enough breakfast.
Two meals a day would certainly be hard for me to do.

Salad and protein or veg and protein I find a good option.

Let us know how you do.

Thanks Cathy, I don't sleep incredibly well at night so perhaps it is just that. We generally have a really good breakfast, often oat pancakes with fruit or toast eggs and fruit. I think you are right, protein and veg or salad is probably the best option.

I have been a bit better though skipping lunch today, though I just had a small bowl of salad as was starving haha, hopefully I will stay awake though.

Thanks for your reply, if I find the magic cure I will definitely share it in case anyone else gets like this.

Have a lovely evening xxx

Generally, once I get to the middle of the day (7-8 hours since I woke up) I start to go into a slump. The only thing I've found that helps is to move around. If you can take a walk at lunch, go for one. It might help you wake up a little.

Thanks Poppy A walk sounds like a really good idea. I will do that today and see if it helps.

Yes, I think the walk is a good idea too. I noticed the other day after forcing myself to do 30 mins of dancing with the Wii that all the tiredness I´d been feeling just disappeared.
