I did plenty of running when I was younger so I would rather do walking, or biking. The only time I really like to run is when I get to the beach and do sprints. The sand is so cushy!

I prefer neither! I prefer Zumba classes or other cardio classes. Jogging is too hard on my knees. I'm also a klutz so I'm not the best cyclist. I have been known to crash a few times!

I went on my exercise bike for the first time in ages today. My legs felt like lead afterwards!

Walking, Jogging and Cycling
Hi Boogie, I think that the triple exercises: walking, jogging and cycling should be done by all who want to lose weight and keep fit at the same time; it should not be an either or option. I normally start by walking, increase my pace to jogging and return home to pick up my bike for a one mile ride.

Personally, I prefer jogging because the seats on bikes hurt my booty too much! I've tried upgrading and buying nicer seats but still, long rides leave me sore the next day.

They actually make great seats for those things. The longest ride I went on (with my spouse) was almost 20 miles in a single day, though we did take many breaks too. By the time we were 1/2 way on the trip we found a great place to stop and eat lunch at. He said he never saw me eat food so quickly before (I am naturally a slow eater).

Holy cow! You went on a 20-mile ride? That is just plain crazy. I know that I could not handle that (breaks and all). I think the most I have ever ridden in one day was 5 miles. I'm not really fond of bikes and it is for the same reason as Chunkyboots stated.

I'm with you on this one; my knees are bad as well. I can't run anymore although I used to in high school. I do low impact cardio or go for huge walks. I can even do "step" aerobics, just not the high impact versions. We do a lot of bike riding, but I find even that bothers my knees if we do too much.

cycling is better for joints. Jogging may cause pain in knees. I prefer cycling. And it is more pleasant for sure))

New to running this year and I love it, I'd love to find some more scenic running areas.
I would love in the future to get myself a decent bike though!
