My running challenge to myself who would go outdoors 3 times a week is to get out at least once a week in the new year and hopefully find my motivation along the way.

So this is my run diary ... actually it’s my walk run walk sprint diary because I do intervals with myself but the aim per week is the same.

I want to burn some fat, especially my thighs and tum again.

I forgot I started this. I did start and then failed on lockdown. I think people either did really well or really bad in lockdown. I was exhausted work to home no break. We’ll never complain about the summer holidays again will we!!!

Last week I did my walk sprint routine. A lot slower and 3.5km of sprinting not 5km.

Now to get one in this week

Are there any benefits to sprints vs running solidly do you think?

But as someone who never outran her chest problems I love them but I also think they are more benefiting to fat burn because they are bursts of high intensity. I think though where running and sprints are concerned I'd go with whatever you enjoy most however if neither I'd be tempted to say mix it up. My endurance has really dived, when it ups I may do a couple of sessions of running a couple of KM before sprints whereas I mostly go out for alight jog to my location where I can die almost privately as nobody is around and sprint
