Your trifle sounds lovely! Good luck for WI too and those 16s and 14s are your next target you've done so well with your losses so far, I'm sure you'll be in them in no time

I'm not currently planning on the whole 'anything goes' and end up blowing it completely, I just don't want to have to pick the salad from the menu if I don't want it (if that makes sense?)
I plan on looking up an idea of syns for the things that interest me on the menu at the minute, and then I can give myself a limit of what I pick
I'm hoping I'll stay sensible, but I know there's cake involved somewhere!

I've felt the guilt for too long and after last nights WI, I'm refusing to feel it again.

haha know the feeling on cake being involved.. I'm defo a pudding girl

flexi-synning is there for days like this, so I'm sure you can make it work and use less syns in the week instead. Hope you have a lovely time.

Mmmm cake, my total and utter downfall (or any type of pudding really!) On the subject of which, does anyone have any advice on syns for cooked fruit? I'm trying to work out the syns for a crumble recipe but not sure if the syns are based on the weight of the fruit before you cook it or after (I'm doing plums)? I'm refusing to replace the sugar and butter with healthier alternatives so it's coming in quite high at the moment

Hmm, not sure Elen! The app says 1.5 syns per 100g... But because it describes it as 'cooked' in the description, I would say it would be after you cook it??

have a go with oats in it, so less flour, and use your HE for that, also sweetener works well - in the fruit and the crumble. You could add something like almonds for 'crunch' if you want and grill it slightly to brown it off / make it crunchy on top - unless you like it soggy like me! lol

As for fruit only time I have it cooked is when it's weigh in night so am not very strict, I guess it would be pre-cooked weight though.

small containers used to make an individual serving would be wise too - this is what I've done with my trifle tonight. My bowls are too big, and I'm guilty of too big a serving.

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking of swapping oats in for flour as I normally do that anyway for a bit of extra texture I usually make a 4-person sized pudding and then if we are good and only eat half we get pudding the next day too but if we are greedy beggars and eat it all we have to go without!

lol signature tag is huge for some reason.. won't fit many on there at that size.

yeah I've got a dish we normally use, and it's enough for 6 in honesty - we used to use pasta dishes for pudding and custard, but I'm using smaller bowls and portions for everything now. small steps to keep my weight going down and my intake of food in line. I don't scrimp or go hungry though, more on the syn-ful foods.

I think it's a good way to do things, I've tried completely cutting things out in the past and it just ends up in disaster when I finally cave and stuff my face. My friends at work are on a big chocolate munch today and I'm fighting very hard to resist because we have friends over this weekend and I want to be able to go out for a guilt-free meal with them.

oh yikes at the chocolate fest at work that would be hard to resist for me for sure.

Sorry you removed the tag from your signature, have another go... it should stay small if you just copy and paste the code in. it's lovely to see them add up.

off to work now see you all later.

I'll give it another go tonight! I had 2 fingers of KitKat today for 5.5 syns but my husband is cooking syn free curry tonight so they will be my only syns (and so worth it!) My car also needed £350 spending on it for its mot so I think I needed some sugar to help me through the shock!
Have a good time at work
