I have a friend who was on Weight Watchers for a year and lost 10 lbs. She never bought the food , just used their points system. She is not with them anymore but she still uses their point system for food. Those of you that use it, do you find it really helpful or the same as any other diet?

I've not used this diet but I think most points syns diets kind of work on the same ideas but WW I believe you weigh your foods can help with moderation I'm sure!

I love it for portion control. I do it from home and have a little propoints calculator and all the books

I was a member a few years back and I just use the old books etc I had back then. I stick to the old points system and very rarely buy their branded foods as they are so expensive!

I also don't buy the food often. When I do, it's mostly because they have a few good items that are convenient. I like this program because it is easier for me to eat in a well balanced way compared to other diets.

I also have a friend that uses just the Weight Watchers Point System. She has been doing this for about a year now and has lost about 15 pounds. I have seen the things that she eats though and I am not convinced that this diet would work for me. It seems like she eats a lot of random things and that just doesn't seem very healthy to me.

I still have all the books and literature from Weight Watchers and it's a great program. My challenge is gearing myself up to follow it. I was a member years ago and also recently. Frankly, I liked it better years ago. There are too many options now.

You don't have to buy the branded food items in any diet - or at least, you shouldn't have to. If a diet only works with special foods, then it's not a good one. I don't follow the Weight Watcher point system, but my understanding is that it's a good way to do things if you don't want to be regimented into counting calories.
