Sell me on Weight Watchers

I have to admit, I know next to nothing about this program, only that it has been around forever and it has lots of celebrities tied to it. Can someone please tell me why it is so great (for you) and what benefits there are over other diet plans? Thanks!

I'd say it works because it is a lifestyle change that teaches a healthy way to eat and prepare meals. You don't have to stick to prepackaged meals or buy special foods like you have to do with some diet plans.

I think is a diet you need to try to know I've seen people prefer WW over SW and vice versa. I started on SW so have no personal experience x

It is brilliant for teaching you portion control. I have lost my weight through various diets including ww.

Pro's
Nothing is forbidden
you choose how you spend points
eating out is easy
the extra 49 weekly points can be saved for weekends or to add to daily meals
fruit/veg is free
you can 'earn' extra exercise points

Con's
you have to weigh rice/pasta/potatoes etc
less free foods than sw

Personally I prefer ww over sw and I do better on it but try to use your points by choosing healthy points choices rather than junk x

NOTHING is forbidden? Hmm, I like the sound of that. With my habits, I'd get to eat pizza ONE time a day and nothing else. And points can carry over to times later in the week? I think I might have to seriously look at this as an option...thanks!

Most people save syns/points I think for a weekend WW have the pasta limits etc right, never have agreed with some if SWs 'free' foods on the easy plan!

Daily points must be used and can't be carried. Most people get 26 (or more) as a starting point. But you get an extra 49 for the week to use as you wish, when you wish.

Example
30g porridge oats ..made with water..with fruit us 3pp
m&s cafe tomato soup and bread 8pp
1 slice of nimble bread is 1pp but 2 is 3pp

Thanks for all the help everyone! I really think that this might be a system I can do. Did anyone you who have done it find it very difficult? I am a little tired of feeling deprived all the time...

I have a pp's calculator and its really easy to point anything once you have the nutrional info. I've started ww again on monday. I've used all my daily points plus 14 weekly in 3 days which leaves me 35 over 4 days. Keeping them for the weekend

That's what I love most about Weight Watchers. Never feeling deprived. I eat every 2-3 hours and I save all my weeklies for my treat days. Maximum of two treat days per week. Preferably one as I always have a good loss if I'm "good" 6 out of 7 days
