I'm going out with my girlfriends this Friday. We always tend to order a bunch of junk and then share. I can't do it this time. I was reading an article on the WW website and it was pretty interesting. Some of the key points they listed that made the most sense to me were:
Ask for something special. If you want something cooked a healthier way, ask. I never thought of this. I thought you had to order it pretty much the way it was on the menu.
Order off the a la carte menu - don't order a whole meal. I have never done this before.
What are your thoughts on this?
I'm guessing not all restaurants will want to change the way they cook the food based on prep time and how busy they are but it is worth a try. I have had ok experience with swapping some of the foods on my dish, like extra veg instead of onion rings etc but depends what is on the menu/what kind of restaurant is it.
I go through stages of making a good choice and for special occasions/dates I relax... I say enjoy the evening with your girlfriend
Hopefully they cater for your request but more important I agree enjoy time with partner
