Can't stop eating after dinner!

I am so depressed and mad at myself. I have no trouble at all keeping to my eating plan during the day but once I eat dinner, it's all over. No matter what I tell myself, I wind up back in the kitchen (sometimes twice!!) to fix a snack.

I am making myself miserable but can't seem to figure out what I need to do to resolve this (fattening) problem!!

Any advice?

I am still fighting with this habit to eat the biggest meal in the evening(( I always could live the whole day without breakfast and lunch, so i ate huge! meals in the evenings...i was going to the kitchen over and over again during the whole evening! It is still a problem for me to stop eating after the dinner(( I understand you so well!! But as Befir said make your snacks healthy! I don't hate myself now because after dinner i go to the kitchen to take an apple or nuts or banana if i want something sweet;-)

This is exactly my problem also. I eat really well through the day and then when we eat dinner, about an hour later, I just can't resist eating something. It's frustrating, but for me, I think it's that i'm not "busy" anymore and we are relaxing. I have NO self control after 7pm.

I have the same problem. I don't snack during the day. I want to snack a lot at night though. It doesn't matter if I am watching TV or if I am keeping busy some other way. I still want to snack. I know it's not a boredom thing for me because even when I am busy, I snack!

This happens for one of two reasons. Either you are not eating and drinking enough water throughout the day, or you are not eating enough for dinner. I've seen my sister do this as well. Every time she does this she can't stop eating. Sometimes you are not really hungry but actually thirsty.

No meal skipping and plenty of water. Some days I don't feel like I've had enough depending on what I ate and will have a yogurt and strawberries as a desert or sugar free jelly and squirty lighter cream

Sometimes I will save some calories for a bedtime snack so that I know I've got something to look forward too. Evenings seem to be a weaker time.

Bev, that's exactly what I decided to try and lo and behold, it's doing the trick!!

Now I can actually look forward to my evening snack because I know I can "indulge" and still not go over my calorie limit. I don't why I didn't think of this before!
