Alright I caved

I totally just caved last night and had some Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Phish Food gets me every single time. I was at the store, and I saw it was on sale, and I just fell off the wagon!

Ahh, I hear you both!! Such great stuff, the bane of any diet!! And I fall off the wagon all the time, just have to get back on!! I think we're too hard on ourselves when this happens, life is also to be enjoyed! Two steps forward , one back...sometimes.

You are allowed to be human once in awhile. At least you got in some extra calcium. Also, it could have been worse. Ben and Jerry's cartons are small.

Discipline to achieve goals

I used to go on and off dieting to keep my weight down until I read the words "discipline yourself to achieve your goals". I recommend this to any struggler like me; remember the story of the tortoise and hare we heard in grade school.

Quite right, KatieMac!

I subscribe to the philosophy that an occasional indulgence does less harm than forcing yourself into lifelong abstinence. Personally, denying myself treats has sabotaged every past dieting attempt. Responsible ice cream intake makes a happy Millicent, and a happy Millicent makes better choices with other meals and snacks.
