I've a million reasons, but health is a big one. I was getting to the point where I was having chest pains and aching joints. I'm 24, I feel like an old woman!
I'm massive though, I always have been but I was at my biggest when I started again. It'd be great to not be the biggest one in the room all the time!
I can totally relate to this. When I meet people for the first time I automatically think they're judging me for my weight. I actually am the "fat friend" in all my friends!! I HATE getting my photo taken too because I look terrible, and it's a reminder how much I've let myself down.

Hi, I was unhappy with my weight and appearance for about 2 years but didn't a really bother myself to do anything about it. My parter of 6 years walked on on me and our children last September and I lost 3 stone from heart break and stress by Christmas. I liked how I was feeling about the weight loss so joined the gym in the new year to firm up the flab and try and drop some more weight. My back pain is so much better now I'm exercising and it's also great for managing my bi polar. Oh and there's the health thing I guess but as a heavy smoker and larger lover I can't really play the health kick card haha xx

I'm sick of being the fat friend and going to social gatherings etc being a chore. I'd love to go and pick something gorgeous and stylish up off the rails in town. Covering arms in the summer etc is rubbish. It's made me miserable for the past 5 years and I'm determined to sort myself out and get to my ideal weight by the time I'm 25 (2 years) so I'm still young enough to have some fun and frolics of girly holidays and festivals and wont look back realising how miserable I was in my 'youth'. I actually want to enjoy going out and not have to feel like people are looking at 'that fatty' ..it makes me so paranoid.

Some of these posts have made me sad-it's good that things motivate you to change, but I bet people don't really notice that you're the 'fat mate' or 'biggest at the party' etc. I do know what you mean cos have been guilty of it too but it's just sad seeing it written down.
Anyhoo...... My reasons are: to lose my baby weight (Caesarian 'gunt')
To feel attractive/remotely like having sex ever again
To not let my kids be embarrassed by my size ( the 3 year old kindly informed me that my arse was lovely and bumpy AND jiggly the other day )
To maximise the chances of getting clothes to not look crap on me for bulgy reasons.

Just noticed the weight going on the clothes getting tighter and when my clothes sizes were wishful thinking I'd had enough.

My mood was awful.

My sleeping was heavy and morning were a struggle.

Then you have the fact nob (my OH) puts the mirror infront of the toilet on the radiator and well try sitting on the loo naked before a shower and seeing the tyres every morning LOL!

LOL oh God that really made me chuckle hahaha

I'm the same with my energy levels, I'd love to wake up refreshed but never do.

I dont want to just accept that I'm bigger when I can do something about it, and actually it's the first time for years that I've been in the right frame of mind to give it a go.

I too am sick of being the 'fat friend'... Even when I was slim and size 12 (a long long time ago) my mates were all a size 6-8 and I stood out like a sore thumb. Now I'm huge and I am fed up of covering up in the summer with something for my arms and I am always in black!
I've started at a gym and am just trying to cut out the rubbish mainly. It's gonna be a long hard slog but looking at the people on here I know im not alone and look forward to the support on offer and swapping advice :-) xx

I started cos I was really unhappy with y weight, I'd never go out without a hoodie/long cardi cos I had to keep my flab covered as I had a massive muffin top and hated it! I was really depressed and had no energy!

Now it's about toning up, trying to get into regular exercise again and becoming the healthiest I can be and set a good example to my girls! Although being a smoker it seems a little hypocritical! But the girls are already asking to go for runs with me and talking about healthy foods etc, so I'm hoping it's rubbing off on them!
