Any ex smokers?

How did you quit?! I quit really easily when preg and really regret starting again, but I'm really struggling with trying to quit. I think part of me's just not ready! I probs smoke a out 20 a day (I smoke rollies so can't really keep track). My OHs a proper die hard smoker and says he'll never quit and I smoke a lot more than him! How do/did you do it?!

I've never smoked but my OH just went cold turkey and has been stopped 8 months now. It was a hard process, his attutide changed (very snappy), he put some weight on but says its the best thing he's ever done and he feels much better for it. He'd tried a couple of times before though but quit. Your head has got to be in the right place to be able to do it, or so he said

Good luck if you decide to quit

Yea I'm not sure my heads in the right place yet I'm considering trying stoptober again, but doing it properly this year! I tried cold turkey last October and lasted a grand total of 30 minutes it was my OHs fault, I woke up and groaned cos I knew I was quitting, he jumped out of bed and announced he was going for a fag!

i think your head does have to be in the right place first. It can be hard to stick to it if your OH smokes Good luck though, I'm sure once you get into it then it'll get much easier!

My husband's aunt has been quit for two months after 50 years of smoking!

It's really hard with him smoking! Quiting after 50 years is amazing! My dad quit s few years ago after about the same amount of time and one of them annoying ex smokers who's really smug and keeps telling me and my mum how bad a habit it is

I stopped about 5 years ago... just had my last fag and that was it.

...but Charls still smoked and I slipped from giving up to having one or two a day (although never had one until the evening).

Nowadays I will quite often go a few days without smoking and then just fancy one every now and then (on a night out the more I drink the more I smoke )

Think I'm going to give up properly again. I don't think I have an addictive personality so just stopping isn't so much of a problem for me.

I feel **** smoking but I still carry on. I think I do have an addictive personality and I just can't stop the habit although I smoke extra lights which people say "why bother". I've also slowly increased the amount I smoke YUK so I need to slow down again then I'd really like to find the right frame of mind to stop.

I've got s properly addictive personality! I switched to an e-cig for a while, but I can't get back into it! I do enjoy it, but hate it at the same time. I'm a proper secret smoker too, most people I know don't know I smoke cos I'm dead ashamed of it

It is a foul habit. I wish I could social smoke because that is when I mostly enjoy one when I'm having a drink!

I was a pack a day smoker for decades. Quitting was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I still sneak and have a smoke now and then. It's really difficult being around people that do smoke. Some people say the smell makes them sick when they quit, but it makes me want one really bad, even now.
