We have visitors throughout August. Beginning of August I have guests from 1st - 5th then from 13th - 19th and again from 29th - 1st September... Throw a BBQ inbetween each one!

1st - 5th there's between 4-6 adults and 4-6 children (2 different families one staying the full time other 2nd - 4th).

2nd - 3 adults and 5 children

3rd not so bad will have 2 guests over longer so 4 adults but the Saturday BBQ ppl leave Sunday.

Anyway to get to the question have you got any cheap but not unhealthy or at least not overly meal ideas ... Pretty much doubled my shopping for the month when I think about it

Pasta is cheap and add some nice spices + sweet chilli

Try going to the butcher and doing a meat deal for the month, try work out how many chicken breasts and they usually charge £1 but if you buy a lot maybe they'll give you a deal, worth a try anyway.

The usual burgers, again our butcher is usually the best value for these (40p for a great quality), bbq chicken in rolls, salad, coleslaw and dips. Wraps probably wouldn't work out that expensive.

What about doing a massive curry for the adults with various rice, naan, sw chips and then something less spicey for kids. Those mayflower curries are brill and just add to strips/chunks of chicken.

You don't want to spend loads of time cooking so cold dishes prepped in advance would be better but a huge curry would be cost effective xx
