Buds on the trees

I saw the first hints of spring today--buds on the trees! Not too unusual in South Carolina, especially with the strange weather we've been having. No surprise that there's a chance of ice later this week...

What about you guys? Any signs of spring?

We've got green shoots coming up from the ground, but not on the trees yet! The weather's been so weird though, it's so wet I doubt anything will grow properly this year!

The weather here is awful, with ongoing storms that have lasted pretty much since Christmas. And despite that, because it's unseasonably warm, we have shoots coming up. There's the possibility of another cold snap yet, so I fear what it will do to all that new growth.

This winter has been absolutely bizarre. Typically, springs starts early here. By the end of March, the temperatures can easily shoot up to eighty degrees on a sunny day. I'm wondering what our spring and summer will be like after such a strange winter. Really makes you wonder about global warming!

I know what you mean, and I've been wondering the same myself. I do worry where the weather is going, what direction it will take, and perhaps more importantly what kind of a world we are leaving to our children.

It's quite scary really isn't it?! I know the weather's always been a bit weird here, but it's properly crazy ATM! And I bet by July we have a hose pipe ban

Strangely though, since my oldest started school in sept, we've only had 2 days when it's been raining first thing and they've gone straight in to school! It just seems to rain all the rest of the time!

Yeah it's certainly some crazy weather we are having! It is raining constantly! Has anyone noticed that the birds are waking up singing earlier these days? It used to be early in the morning but now it's sometimes starting at 3am! I wonder if the weather is making them a bit out of sync too?
