Shapewear

Has anyone tried Spanx or any other kind of shapewear? I have a wedding to go to next month so I bought one. Oh, man... it's like a torture device. My dress fits smoother but I don't think I can keep this thing on for more than an hour. How in the world did women ever wear corsets or girdles every day?

This is the one I have.

Sorry I didn't spot the link on mobile version

Like it I can imagine that working much better than I had! Did you go for your actual size or a size below?

I actually rather like shapewear for formal clothes. It's not something I would want to wear every day, although I suppose I could if absolutely necessary. I just don't see it as necessary with current casual and business casual fashions.

I have one that I wear pretty much all the time, but I have back fat that I'm really self-conscious about. I like how it smooths it out and I can pull off shirts that are cut a little more on the slim side. The one I have looks like a bathing suit that would show your boobs -- it has a crotch at the bottom and straps at the top but the boob cutout is so you can still wear your own bra.

I have a one piece that is like a slip to wear under a dress. It's great if I don't have to walk around a lot because it tends to ride up. With Spanx they told me to order up a size because they run a little small.

I have never attempted to use one, I have this thing about self torture. I would rather take three times as long finding something to wear than try to squeeze into one of these crazy contraptions.
