My back hurts

I don't usually like to go around whinging and complaining but it's gotten rough. I had a couple MRIs earlier this month and they weren't very good. I've already had two back surgeries and it looks like I may need two more. I won't have them done unless it is absolutely necessary. I live alone so I don't have anyone to help me and it's not an easy type of surgery to recover from.

I started gaining weight after the back surgeries because I couldn't be active anymore. I can't really do much in the way of activity at all. It makes it really hard to get this weight off. I've gained over 50 pounds in the last three years.

This diet journey has been pretty hard for me and I wanted to thank all of you for the constant motivation and kindness in this group.

It might be harder to lose weight without being able to do your exercising but it can still happen. At least with following a good diet you'll feel good in other ways and not gain more weight. My mom might need back surgery too.

I am sorry about your back. That must be incredibly difficult
Like the previous poster said though, it isn't impossible and can still be done

I think motivation is easy when you can relate to a person in one way or another. I know I am hurting but that is just because I was dumb moving a big dinning room table around for the upcoming holidays.

It can't be easy You know if you can't prevent the surgery then you really shouldn't give yourself a hard time just try and eat healthily and not concentrate on what you can't do. Good luck if you do need to go for further surgery x

Thank you, everybody.

I tried swimming for awhile and I felt okay in the water but I had to stop going because it got too cold. Even though it was an indoor pool, the water was too cold! They need to heat it more! It is too expensive to maintain the membership if I'm not going. I'll join again once the weather warms if I can afford it.

I try to eat as healthy as I can but that is a challenge too. The best food costs the most. I just take it one day at a time.

What about trying some low impact isometric exercises? I would suggest doing some research on those because it also sounds like you still need some physical therapy.
