Wholemeal bread syns

Hi, I've had 2 slices of Hovis Wholemeal bread for breakfast, they're from an 800g loaf and weigh 40g per slice. I was hoping to use some towards my HEX B and count the rest as syns but I'm confused. It says a 60g portion of Wholemeal bread or one slice from an 800g loaf (which in the case of my Hovis, only weighs 40g). So which figure would you use and any idea how many syns I will have used on top of my HEX B?

Many Thanks. X

In total you would have had 8 syns. So take 6 for your HEb and syn just 2.

Ali's right. 1 slice is 4 syns, as you had 2, count 8 syns total.
Remove 6 for using 60g as your B choice, and count 2 syns for the extra 20g

I too have a question about the HEB.

2 medium slices of wholemeal bread (400g sliced loaf) would count as one of my 'B' choice for the day.

But, if I wanted 2 Ryvita Dark Rye/Original the same day would that be a syn or is it in the 'S' range.

Tx

Neither, you would syn the ryvita if you've already had bread/cereal/dried fruit/nuts/cereal bar as your B choice for the day

So it is either or.

One thing I will miss is bread.

Before starting SW I could quite easily have 4 slices of bread some days.

Doesn't have to be either or, but you can only have one as your B choice. I suppose it depends how much you are willing to use your syns on one of them

Not that willing really.

Some days I would rather use the extra syns on a glass or two of wine if I know that I have chosen wisely during the day and getting enough from the food choices.

If you're doing SP the ryvitas would count as the second HEb. But on a normal EE day they would be 3 syns if you'd already had bread. When we get so used to toast and sandwiches, it's tricky to think of alternatives. But I make up big bowls of salad with pasta or rice and have that for lunch instead.
