Lidl English Sausages
I am very restricted on sausages here, I can't get any of the low syn sausages that I see many of you speaking about.
The best we (as ex pats) have found here are the Lidl English Sausages, we never find any grisle (sp) (thank God) and there doesn't appear to be a lot of fat that escapes when cooking on my giddle as some pork ones do.
Is there a syn value listed for them? If not I have a packet in the freezer so I can try and translate from Greek to give the nutritional values.
Fingers crossed they are not too high per sausage!
Are they simply called 'Lidl English Sausages'?
There ain't anything specific on the SW app, but I wondered if they had another sort of name on them?

On reflection and having looked at the ones I have in freezer, they are not Lidl brand but made in Cyprus for Lidl. What I can tell you is that the total weight is 400g and there are six sausages. Does that help? Here is a shot of the nutritional details which have English as well as Greek
. Got a feeling they're horribly high?
I'm assuming that the first listed ingredient is pork?
Without knowing that it's less than 5% Fat, they come up as 58 syns per packet.
Using pork as the free food, they're still high at 43.5 syns per packet

On the front of the tray there is a big fat pig and then a whole lot of Greek.
Assuming you are right at 43.5 syns per packet, then if I were to cook them and then freeze individually, I could have the odd one sliced in a salad for instance and count as 7.5 syns? Or am I clutching at straws as we can't be sure?
I see nothing wrong with that! I'd do it

Think I may consider counting he higher syn value though, only because I'm not sure if they've been made with low fat pork or not

OK, I see what you're saying, now makes each sausage 9.5 but I'll do it anyway!
Thanks Sarah, means a lot!
I have been known to eat a whole packet of these in one day, I had no idea how evil sausages were!
I know, it's shocking! It's bad enough here trying to find ones that are low synned, and still taste nice, so I can't imagine how hard you might find it to source some foods!
