Lots of syn questions struggling

Hi everyone ok!

I get into sw and think great but then I get very bored as it's like every food I use to eat is loaded with syns

Then I feel sad to the fact I can't just go to a restaurant and get a decent meal instead of steak all the time !

So wondering do people save there syns for their weekend treat meal ? Or does anyone have a total day off ?

Also any tips on low quick grab foods for lunch as my job is high demand at times don't get break so eat at desk

Also crackers ! Rivita cream crackers etc what are best low syn ones you can get ?

Trying to stay upbeat but been honest when I say I think very negative when I diet ! Miss my naughty foods lol

I guess the first thing you've got to consider is - do you want to continue to feel how you do now? I assume that you started SW because you aren't happy with something, whether that's how you look, the number that shows on the scales, or that you want to have healthier eating habits?


You don't have to cut out the 'naughty' foods, just limit how much of them you eat.


You can go to a restaurant and get a 'decent' meal (personally I think steak is an awesome meal I'm a proud carnivore )
You just have to be wise with your choices if you want to stay on plan. Pick a pasta dish, but go for one that isn't loaded with cream/cheese.


Some people do save their syns up yes. I always advise that if you want to save syns for the weekend, try to have 5 a day on weekdays, and then you can use 80 over the weekend. I wouldn't advise going without syns completely on weekdays, but mostly because you'll start to feel deprived if you've had absolutely nothing that has even a small syn value.
I know of someone who on WI day has a Dominos or something similar after WI, but she is on plan every other day of the week and still uses her 5-15 syns each day. She has lost 5+ stone by doing this, however, this isn't necessarily going to work for anyone else.


I would struggle with quick to eat foods, if I ever need to grab something quick I tend to go buy the sushi packs from Tesco as the large fish selection is only 4.5 syns. But I have the advantage of being able to have a proper lunch break.

Wow thank you so much Sarah that's very true so like if I was invited for a meal out I could look at menu pre plan the syns during week and save them if I really have to of course I'm more than happy to go for potatoes rather chips 🍟 oh and of course steak is sooo good I agree haha.
I'm being very good staying on plan and I'm more accepting now I got to change with my choices and enjoy the choices I make ! And plus i am actually feeling amazily healthy only after four days haha and clothes already are loose!
Any idea what would be the healthier option Chinese take away as my sister is asking me ?

Thanks Sarah !!!! So so useful and I'm now really getting into this I have two craving moments but grabbed an apple and was cool ! Changing my mindset and leaving choc as a treat ! But not to pig out ! But surprised at the power an actual sugar craving can be!!!

It is surprising!
I'll never forget one tip I was given years ago. Someone said they would put an apple or other fruit in their line of sight, for example when they're watching TV, and if they think they're hungry, look at the apple and think 'could I eat that' and if the answer is no then it's just boredom talking rather than actual hunger. She said it really worked for her to help stop picking at things when she wasn't actually hungry

Yea it's very true ! It is boredom mine is stress related I eat and it comforts me but now I'm
Accepting I still do eat just free foods instead and I'm enjoying food more as I'm hungry for rather that just stuffing my face ha !
