Hi all i have just joined slimming world and looked through the syns, it says that smoothies are classed as syns. Does this mean shop bought ones or ones made from scratch a home. Fruit is free foods so im a little confused. Thanks!!

It means all smoothies, whether they are homemade or shop bought.
If you make a smoothie with a banana, an apple, an orange, a handful of strawberries (I'm picking random fruits as an example), and then blend and drink them, you will feel full for a little while, but if you are that same amount of fruit, you'd feel a lot fuller.
It's all about filling power. Eating the fruit is it's original state keeps you feeling full. But as soon as you blend, cook, heat, mash, puree the fruit, it becomes less filling.

However, blending and mashing veggies for a soup is a different story. Because you are eating the soup as part of a meal, that's completely fine. But if you decided to blend some cucumber to put into a smoothie, you would have to syn it.

Does any of that make sense?
