First week back on plan 3 lb gain

Hi,iv been doing sw on and off for a few years now,tried ww a few months back but didn’t really work for me,from mid November to to mid January I was off plan and gained 5 lb,started sw almost 2 weeks ago,expecting a big loss first week! No..I agained 3lb,I could cry I’m so upset,thought to myself don’t give up,weighed today almost 2 weeks in and another lb on,I’m so upset,how can I gain 5lb eating what I want for 2 months and then gain almost the equivalent in 2 weeks on plan,someone please help me I feel so sh*t about myself x

I'm so sorry you're feeling so rubbish!
Have you gone to a group or are you doing it from home?
Are you able to post your food diary from the last couple of weeks so we can take a look and see if we can spot anything?


Just a few little tips that I can initially think of (which you'll probably know, but sometimes it can be triggered when someone mentions it?)
- have you drank enough water?
- have you had regular meals with plenty of speed foods?
- have you increased your exercise recently?
- have your healthy extras been accurately measured?
- have you used any syns? and have you used them everyday?

Some examples of your daily food would defo help.

One thing I don't like about SW is the 'free' pasta, rice and potatoes. This could be something to consider?

Water has a massive play - 2 litres min, pref 3

Hi,iv got my diary written down at home can get it later
I drink a lot of water always have I buy at least 8 2 litre bottles a week
Eating plenty of speed,I walk a minimum of 12000 steps a day,have 12/15 syns a day,I’m exercising more,iv been mindful of the pasta etc,makes no sense that over xmas I was eating anything I liked plus alcohol and gained roughly the same amount in all that time as iv now gained on plan plus I also wasn’t as active then either,I’m so disappointed most people iv seen getting back on plan after Xmas having massive losses x

Our bodies have a mind of their own.

I think sometimes it can depends on what you have to lose ... what have you gained ... what have they gained ... 3lbs really isn't a lot, I can gain that when my time of the month is due. There are so many factors why the scales might tip up including going from inactive to active! If I up my exercise it takes a couple of weeks for it all to start evening out.

When is next weigh-in?
