So I begin week 2

Hello all. I used to follow slimming world 6 years ago and lost weight well and enjoyed it. I am back again, some things appear to have changed though, whats happened to the green and red days? I used to save up most of my syns for the weekend too, is this still allowed? My next 2 days menus are planned as this, please let me know if they can be improved or if I am wrong. I am out of practice.

Breakfast: fat free yogurt (0syns)

Lunch: Home made veg soup, 1.5 slices of kingsmill crustless bread (0.5 HEB) with bit of ham on.(0syns)

DInner: Salmon, jacket potato, asparagus, sweetcorn, fat free cottage cheese in my potato.(0syns)

Evening snack before bed
1 alpen light (remaining half of HEB)
ready salted pufts (3.5syns)
1 x light baby bell (1/3rd of my HEA)

approx 2/3rds of my HEA is skimmed milk in teas and coffees.

Day 2 same as above for breakfast and lunch. I have the same every day.

Dinner: spag bol - 5% fat mince dry fried and drained. Tins of chopped tomatoes, button mushrooms, 2 peppers diced, onion diced. served with pasta. (0syns)

probably same snack of an evening.

The HOmemade soup i have daily is 0 syns (I Hope)
carrots
swede
onion
leak
potatoes
cabbage
butternut squash
2 veg stock pots
small tub of cubed lean bacon to enhance the flavour
I make a big pan of this each week and split it over 7 portions.

I think i don't vary my diet enough, but i am just boring when it comes to foods. Any tips greatly appreciated

Red and green days disappeared about 4 years ago. SW decided to streamline the plan more and just focus on the Extra Easy days. They also now have an SP plan where you focus on just the Speed and Protein foods in your book. It’s great to follow if you need a boost in losses, it basically means no pasta/rice/potatoes, not yogurts and certain fruits are out of the plan too.But if you need more info, there’s a thread on here that I started for it.

Some people still calculate their syns as having 105 across the week and they use them as they see fit, so saving the majority for the weekend isn’t unheard of. But I would advise using a couple of syns each day, for example if you used 5 syns Monday – Friday, you would have 80 to use across Saturday & Sunday.

With regards to your plan, it looks fine your syns are correct, although SW don’t recommend splitting your hex a choice between milk and cheese. It should be one or the other. When you use their measured amounts, you are getting the recommended daily minimum of calcium in your daily diet. Splitting between cheese and milk can confuse things. If it works for you, stick with it. However if you find that your losses are tapering off and you’ve been on plan 100% otherwise, change how you calculate using your hex choices.
The light babybels are only 2 syns each, so you could count your milk as your a choice, and add 2 syns for the babybel.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your reply and most helpful info. I didn't realise about splitting the HEA wasn't recommended thats helpful to know. I lost 2 pound in my first week so will continue to split it until I dont have a loss then stop! I love eating the baby bell light with the pufts, its like cheese crackers haha. I wish I liked hot drinks without milk so could have all 3 baby bells.I need my syns for Vodka :-)
Will definately have a go of the SP plan once things start slowing down. I am a member online but tbh finding the website quite difficult to understand and manage. Takes me ages to find anything. So if anyone wants me to look up any syns just ask. May take me a while to find it though haha

Feel free to ask for any guidance on the website, I'm on there quite a lot, and although I go to a group, I'd be lost without that website!

Thanks so much. I am visiting the Toby Carvery later I can see the gravy is 1 syn per serving but how big is the serving? I have rang and asked them the size of there ladel that they use for gravy and they have told me it’s 150ml. Is this the serving? Find it hard to believe only one syn for that much. When your usual bisto gravy is much more. Thanks in advance

Hi suzie. It is 1syn per 100ml so for a full ladle it would be 1.5syns.

I hope that helps x

Daisy's right, I'd count 1.5 syns for a ladle of gravy
