New to Slimming World - First Day Tomorrow

Hi All,

New to the forum, new to SW and starting out tomorrow.

Have bought the starter pack and am joining a group next Monday so trying to figure out a meal plan for the first week prior to going to the first group.

I would welcome any opinions on my first days food. Just need reassurance that I have read the food optimising booklet correctly and am heading in the right direction. So tomorrow I have planned:

Breakfast:
2 x Weetabix - skimmed milk - chopped banana

Lunch
Jacket potato and baked beans - salad

Dinner
Iceland Slimming World microwave meal with extra salad

Drinks
About 5 cups of decaff coffee a day with dash of semi-skimmed milk

Snacks
No idea yet - Probably Muller Light and banana + a couple of syn items.

This seems to cover HEA and HEB with everything else as free food.

Does this sound good??

Any tips on how it can be improved would be most appreciated.

Many thanks

Jeff

Welcome to social slimmers!

Your plan looks good, some tips I can initially think of:
Try to drink 2 litres of water a day, not including fizzy drinks. I've heard that coffee/tea dehydrate you, but I don't know how true that actually is (I don't drink either)
Make sure you measure your healthy extra choices. And syn any additional you have, especially when using a dash of milk in your brew. It's surprising how much that dash of milk can add up over the week if you aren't using it from your usual allowance.
Try to aim for 1/3 of your plate being a speed food for each meal. And where possible, 1/3 protein foods. These are what keep you full.

Can I ask, if you hadn't already joined a group, did you join online to get the starter pack, or did you buy it from eBay?
Only because once you join a SW group you'll get all the books you need.

Thanks Sarah,

I just found out the receptionist in our office is also doing SW and she's giving me loads of helpful tips today.

I bought the pack off eBay with the intention of swatting up first and getting a feel for things and then going to a meeting next Monday. So the first week is a taster so I can see where I go right and where I go wrong and then be armed with questions for the first meeting.

Regards

Jeff

Very well !!

Weighed in this morning and lost 5lb this week.

May have underdone it with syns though so will add more of these next week As a biggish bloke I'm accounting for 10 syns a day. Last week I barely had any, maybe a max of 5 a day.

So far so good.

Just had a nice lean bacon omelette and salad for lunch where I would normally have 3 sausages in rolls so meal replacement with healthy options is working.

Regards

Jeff

Fabulous loss!
And if I remember correctly, gents can have up to 20 syns a day?? But I would advise using more than 5, especially as a male, your losses get better when you use more syns (sounds odd, but very true!)
