Snack ideas

Hello,

I would like to ask what people normally spend their 15 syns on a day. I am getting a bit tired of the rich tea biscuits😀.

Thank you!

A nice synned yogurt, some dried apricots, a Tunnocks teacake, a mini Magnum, a tbsp of mayonnaise, a tsp of proper butter or a bag of Sunbites sweet n salty popcorn. I could go on and on...

I love the Fibre One bars - they are 4 syns each and definitely worth it. The salted caramel squares are my favourite.

I also incorporate some into my main meals. I'm way too lazy to cook rice, for example, so I get the microwave pouches that are around 1.5 to 2 syns. I will also use dressing on my salad (the Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself Caesar dressing from the shelf--not the chiller--is 0.5syn per tbsp). Treat yourself to some sausages (once again, Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself Cumberland sausages (chilled, not frozen) are 1syn each if I remember correctly.

Just remember that you don't have to use all 15 each day. It's better to start off by eating more, because that way there's something you can reduce if your weight loss plateaus. However, if you're not feeling it, don't force yourself! The recommended minimum is at least 5, because your body still needs some fat. You can also use them flexibly. Sometimes when you go out to eat, you don't necessarily want a chicken breast and salad or jacket potato. If you eat a reduced amount of syns (or none at all) and save your syns throughout the week, it's much easier to justify having a couple of slices of pizza or rich sauces, etc.

Best of luck!

I use mine on all sorts of things, sometimes within a meal, like garlic slices with pasta, salad dressings (I only use salad cream!), poppadoms and mango chutney with a curry. Or I'll use them on alcohol, or the good old favourite of chocolate or crisps

Like kay said, you don't have to use all 15 each day, but using a minimum of 5 is what is recommended.
It's true that people generally lose more weight by using more syns, but it is senseless to use all 15 if you don't actually want them. You just end up feeling rubbish at the end of it

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply! Some interesting ideas. Great! I was thinking of keeping my syns for the weekend but find it too difficult to manage as I like a treat during the week. I love the meringues which are 2.5 syns I could live on them! Lol
