No support

I joined back at Slimming World last night after quitting in August. However when I walked in, there was no support from the consultant or group. I walked in looking like a lost sheep, despite having text the consultant a week before saying that I would be attending. I do understand that we have a big group, but there was no help.

I walked in, looking lost, and I had to ask for help and luckily I did end up guessing who the consultant was. I explained that I left group and then I came back, and I wasn't offered to sit back through the beginning talk. I was told that if I had my card and my book to just go and pay. So I did ... and then I got weighed.

I left as I feel I couldn't sit through group, there was nothing there for me. I'm not too sure what to do, and I go to the most local group to me, at the most appropriate time.

SO this evening I made my first meal in which I thought would be SW style, and it turns out it's all synned. I made a tortilla wrap pizza, I even saved my HexB and A for this. So now I am feeling more defeated than ever

Can anyone help or give some advice?

Oh Megan! That's awful, I'm so sorry you've had such a bad experience going back!
I remember what it's like to walk into group for the first time, not knowing anyone is daunting enough, but to have to guess who the consultant is, and then not feel welcomed properly isn't fair.
You absolutely should have been given the new member talk, or at least offered the opportunity to have one.

My first suggestion would be to re-read your Food Optimising book. I've done it recently, despite being at group for years, it really does help for me to sit and read through it every so often to remind myself of what things are on plan etc.
Whilst you've also got access to the website, assuming they gave you your PIN, get on there and print out tons of recipes that you like. I've made a file with loads from the website, but I've also got virtually every recipe book going too
From those, plan your meals for the next week and do your shopping list.
Because you've got the website access you can also check up on what changes there have been to the healthy extras sections, and what is now synned. Use the Syns Online bit of he website rather than the healthy extras lists, only because the Syns Online section will tell you if a branded version of something can be counted as your A or B choice e.g. There are some Bfree wraps that are on the B choices (see photo)

Start from there and see how you feel. Start again from tomorrow as best you can, and focus on the rest of the week.

Don't think about the group for now - just focus on you and getting your head back around the plan.

And don't hesitate to ask us anything here - we're all here for each other, for support or just a general chat if you want one

Don't give up Hun

Thanks for your reply! I did think it was awful, and finding another group that isn't first thing on a Saturday morning or a good drive away is difficult, and that's in the centre of Liverpool. It does suck. I think I'll definitely read through my booklet, I luckily still have everything and have paid £15 for them to restart me again - so now I access to the website and everything. I chose not to loose my history as I find it's good to keep it

I've no doubt that you'll get back into the swing of things after a week or so, and in the meantime, we are here to be your support when you need it

Glad to read you seem to be feeling more positive about things... such an awful experience to have had! I have joined the nearest group to me twice before and just cant seem to take to my consultant at all so have been on and off the plan since last november but been trying to do it mostly from home. I'm starting a new group next week which is slightly further away and quite early in the morning so getting my 4 year old up ready and out will be a challenge haha but hopefully will feel more comfortable and settle in better at this group... time will tell lol xx

Let me know how it goes for you? It'll be interesting to see and maybe it'll push me to change groups. I'm not happy where I am and I've only been there once (with the different consultant) ... Today there's two cakes and pastries in the office. It's so bad
