I can't stop synning

I am desperate need of Slimming World help. I have been doing Slimming World for a few months, and I have reached my half a stone award.

For the past three weeks I haven't been able to stop eating synful food, and I don't know what to do. I wanted to reach my target weight (or close to it) by the time my holiday came around, which is now in two weeks. Weigh in this week I maintained, and so I was alright with that. Then today I was tempted by KFC, and I didn't even go for a 4.5 syn rice box. I went for the full wack, and I haven't been able to stop. Even yesterday before my weigh in I had a chocolate croissant, sweets, chocolate and my home made speed soup ...

I feel like I should start again tomorrow, but I'm worried because I don't know what I'll be able to do without synning as I'm at a family event which I know wont be serving Slimming World friendly food, so I don't know whether I should fill myself with fruit.

Basically what I'm asking is, can someone give me some ideas of speed food meals that I can have throughout the day at work so I'm full enough and I wont have to give into temptation?

I'm really wanting to loose at least 4 lbs before my holiday in 12 days, and I know it's achieveable ...

Sorry to hear you're in a bit bit of a rut . Im afraid im quite new to sw, been going for 3 weeks (lost 8lbs so far) so i might not be the best person to reply, but i think its pretty safe to say that most people go through this syn phase. Quite a few members at my group have had really bad days and gone well over on their syn count BUT its important to know you can start a fresh tomorrow (or day after if you have a family get together to get too).

I mainly just carry fruit around with me in my handbag and maybe a hi-fi bar so ive got a chocolaty snack.

You've done well getting your half a stone reward! . Keep looking at it and let it push you to carry on. We have near enough the same stats and im really looking forward to holding my stone reward

Every single person that I know on SW has goen through this, and I've been a member for 5 years, so I've seen a lot of people go through it, and been through it more times than I can count myself!

If you want to keep yourself filled, try to eat more protein foods as well as more speed. The protein keeps you filled up, and the speed helps with your losses.

I'm finding that I'm doing the same sort of thing as you, especially this weekend, I've eaten more syns that I should have and I knew exactly what I was doing when I ate every single one of them, I ust didn't stop myself.
But because of that, I've made a massive SP soup for this week, tons of veg (carrots, swede, broccoli, green beans, peppers, and a couple more I can't think of!) with some lentils (the protein side)
This will keep me fuller during the rest of the afternoon, and will help speed up my losses for next week.

We talked about the whole something that has syns rather than speed foods the other week in group, and one lady had a great point.
When you're sat at home, and you 'want' something to eat, have an apple or some other piece of fruit sat in your eye line and ask yourself are you hungry enough to eat the apple. If the answer is no, you obviously aren't hungry, you're just eating from boredom or something.

If the family event isn't a sit down meal and is more of a buffett, then I would eat something before I went to reduce the temptation to fill up on whatever is there that could send you off track.

You will get there hun, it just takes some will power to avoid those very tempting things that don't help us in losing weight!

I know how you feel. I've not yet had a 'perfect' week on slimming world but the important thing is if you do have a day with lots of syns then just focus on the next day. Or eat too much chocolate but on the same day have lots of speed food and try and eat really nutritious, on plan meals even if you don't stick to plan by going over your syns.

The weight will come odd even if its slow.

Hello guys!

Thanks for all of your comments. The past couple of days I haven't been doing too bad all considering, and I've also been going to the gym and I feel a little better than I'm burning off any syns I'd have eaten. Then I won't be eating them after the gym, so my frame of mind is going well.

I was having my speed soup when I was synning and it's almost like I felt that this made it okay to syn! Naughty me. However recently I feel better, and I haven't synned as much. I even have a freddo sat staring at me and I haven't had any temptation.

Fingers crossed for my weigh in on Thursday!
