Planning Christmas Dinner - Synful or Syn Saint

Does everything go out of the window or are you gonna make a plan and stick to it?

Just wondered how everyone else deals with the christmas period? I'm been thinking that I should sit down and make a plan and not leave it to the last minute like I usually do

How many just go sod it and restart again in the new year?

In all the years I've done SW, I have never changed my Christmas dinner. I've always eaten and drank what I wanted on the day. Partly because we aren't always at the same house each year (mum and auntie take turns each year) and I can't ask someone else to cook everything in a special way just for me, but also because I don't actually cook it lol.
I do make wiser choices with things, like I stick to spirits rather than wine or beer, and I don't gorge myself on the crisps, cake, sweets, chocolate and god knows what else like I used to.

And I don't leave it until new year to get back on plan. Or I won't be this year at least. I'm allowing myself Christmas Day, and some goodies on Boxing Day (not all bad stuff though!) and maybe New Year if I actually make any plans. Last year me and mum vegged in front of the TV and had a bottle of wine and that was it!
But every other day before and after Christmas Day will be all on plan

glad I'm not the only one. I was tip toeing with the way i worded my post just incase I was the only one that is thinking sod it for a couple of days. I always plan on being good but it just never works out that way We alternate every christmas and this year is my year to do dinner. I want to go all out but still want enough things that I can safely eat without feeling too bad.

It's always the snacks and alcohol I fail on.

I'm veggie so my dinner is a pile of veg (about 10 normally) and gravy. I do have stuffing too.

Pudding for me is trifle so this can be low ish syns..

BUT it involves chocolate and usually a LOT of chocolate for me, mince pies and custard are a fav too. So those will be limited for sure!

I've been thinking of getting some 'little packs' of chocolates like lindor for instance, but not too many just so I can have a treat a couple of nights.

I don't drink so that isn't an issue either. I sound very boring! lol puddings and sweets really are my problem area.

I'm highly likely to be working this year. Might just try stay on plan completely but if I go off I will get back on it as soon as possible. Will ask for no chocolate as presents and try exercise will power at home.

I would usually go crazy but not much point this year!

As its my first Christmas following SW, I feel I'm going to make it SW friendly. For me personally, my mind frame has changed and I just don't think I'd enjoy a Christmas dinner knowing I was Going to feel dreadful afterwards. I'll food optimise when I'm round at my in laws though and I'll save syns to have some of the naughty stuff or I'll flexi-syn on the same. I definitely won't go without my pigs in blankets (SW syn free sausages and rindless bacon) or my stuffing (hex b) or my gravy (oxo cube)... The Yorkshire puds will have to be synned

I'm not overly fussed by chocolate (and I tend to receive a few boxes at Christmas from the children) and I don't drink. I'm pretty boring!

This will be my first Christmas on sw and I plan on eating whatever I like...you got to still live, so what if I put on weight I will get it off again. This year though I plan on limiting my off plan days to Christmas eve, Christmas Day and boxing day....I will still be exercising too.

Im really torn. I know there are ways to make a Christmas dinner more SW friendly.... but will i?.. I ADORE yorkshire puddings, i could easily have 5 with dinner. Im also the kind of gal that would get a chocolate tin given to me and id pig out on them infront of the tele. If i managed to lose a good amout by Christmas (only just started plan), then maybe that will help me be careful of what im eating. Id hate to think how many syns there are in half a tin of quality street :/ xx

I have whatever is on offer for the meals and don't worry about it, but I do avoid the chocolates/crisps etc...although if someone gets the Twiglets out I'm buggered!!!... Love those things like crazy!.... thankfully I am not a huge drinker, but will have wine with my meals and a couple of Tia Maria & Cokes in the evenings. And I will only be a little naughty from Christmas Eve 4pm till boxing day 4pm as that is when we will be at Mum's house, so not in control of the food that is on offer.... My house will be full of good treats rather than naughty ones ready and waiting for when I get back late on Boxing day.
