Hello Kazoo Master and welcome. Many of us chat in our food journals but we were taking over the thread so started personal chatting here instead! Hope you've had a look at the food diaries And glad to see you here too Elen :-)
I'm back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks leave and it's just typical that I'm feeling quite unwell with a sinus infection. I only work 2 shifts a week due to chronic illness and I'm really looking forward to going in and catching up with my colleagues, so really hope I don't feel too rough. At the moment I feel like my cheekbones are going to explode despite all my painkillers. Well it's weigh day tomorrow, so hoping I've lost a bit since getting back from my holiday on Saturday. I know for sure I'll have a gain overall, just hope it's not too big!

AliCat so sorry you're feeling off colour but hope you feel better soon and work is a positive distraction. Glad you're looking forward to going back.
Had another busy day today, after body boarding last night I was aching a bit this morning but have spent half the day in the garden, mowing the lawn and hacking back some honeysuckle under attack from brambles. needs a hard winter prune I think.
Had a lovely BBQ after weighing in (lost 1lb so happy with that considering the last couple of weeks). Was totally on plan with quorn, cous cous and veggies.
Looking forward to this week - really hope I can lose 2.5lb to get myself into the 15 stone range!

Hello Kazoo and Elen welcome aboard!
I'm on week 8 now (I think...) but have had a bumpy couple of weeks due to having an operation last Wednesday. Am down 15.5lb in total though so am happy with that

That's fabulous! Not about the operation...! But that's a great loss. I'll be happy if I can do that in 8 weeks!

Thanks, Ali - they have been very useful and I have just been inspired to have chilli with cauliflower rice. I am very impressed and I think I may have managed to have a EESP day! Hope you're feeling better soon - I suffer terribly with sinus problems so I can really empathise.

It's my mum's birthday next week but she's having the get-together this Saturday. She told me today what food she's putting on: spicy chicken, sausages, burgers in buns, pizza, chips, salad, sherry trifle, black forest gateau and last but not least, fruit salad!

Ooh wow, lots of temptation there! Good luck!
We're visiting my mother in law this weekend and my husband tried to give her a ring and gently suggest we'd like to eat fairly healthy and she just interrupted him with "well I've bought food in now!" The annoying thing is, she eats really healthily herself but then gets all sorts of unhealthy stuff in when we visit and then comments that we need to lose weight! Can't win lol

There's no way I can offend my mum so I'll have to eat a good amount and not mention my diet. She's very supportive but this is a special occasion and we always celebrate with food. I'll just write off the day. Parents, I think, like to show their love with food. I know I do!
