Looby Hello So where in Scotland are you headed? (nosey me). I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the weather is really crap up here just now. I've had to put my heating back on. Liking the sound of a folding caravan. Have you any pics? It might persuade OH to get out and about - he put a stop to the tent because it was cold (wee soul )

Hi there.
We're staying in some cottages close to Crawfordjohn near Douglas. It was the closest we could get to our relatives who live along the Clyde Valley in Crossford.
Me and my sister and our families, along with our mum are all heading up. Mum turned 80 at the end of June, so she is having her 'Scottish' 80th birthday do with all the relatives whilst we're up, having already had her 'English' 80th party down here already.
I keep checking the weather forecast, and it is quite clear that it is going to remain wet and cold. Just been out with hubby searching for jumpers to buy!
Typical though that this week will probably be the only decent week down here, and we're heading to the horrible weather. Oh well....can't be helped!
Ooh...Goburs are the posh end of the Folding Caravan Market. We bought cheaply and in haste with our Esterel...which turned out to be really rotten! It was a 1980 van, and huge! So it was named 'The Beast'. The corner broke the first time we tried to fold it down, and then after some repairs we were able to use it for about 18 months. And it worked really well for us as a family. But then, another corner failed, and whilst hubby and his friends tried to repair it, they let the roof fall on the back wall, smashing the window. At that point, we realised there was little point trying to repair, and decided to sell for spares. So I advertised on a facebook Esterel page, and there was a fella in Dundee who need the whole interior. So, as we were heading to Scotland to visit relatives, I offered to tow the whole thing to Scotland for him.
Anyway...whilst on that same holiday, I searched the internet for other folders, and that's when we found the Rapido...it's a 1986, so newer than our Esterel, but in such fab condition! So we went to view, and had to have her. So this is 'Ronnie the Rapido'...
