Banana and syns

Can anyone tell me if I make banana pancakes by using two eggs and two bananas. Whisk eggs, mash banana , mix together add a little cinnamon and then fry using a little spray of one cal why it makes the banana a syn? Makes enough for two. So I am still only eating one banana?

Absolutely no idea. As far as Inwas concerned the banana pancakes should be free. Is it the oil adding a syn? Maybe someone with more experience can help but I think it should be free on EE. Where did you read that it is synned?

No added oil. The one cal spray is free. But it says if fruit cooked etc has to be counted as a syn? Cooked banana 4 syns per 100g?

Oh yeah I was looking at the wrong line! No idea why that is, unless its to do with how the heat changes the make up of the fruit or something, maybe releases more sugars or something! X

Yes it's the sugar of cooked or pureed fruit that makes it a syn.

But it's still only one banana and you mash it up when you eat it anyway? Nothing extra added to it

I know. SW is strict on mashing fruit so there must be a good reason. To be honest I don't take a lot of notice. 1 banana is not going to make any difference!

Banana and syns

You are meant to syn mashed/puréed/cooked fruit. It's mostly because it changes the structure of the fruit itself and it changes the way you digest it. They say it's all about filling power, and changing how you eat the fruit doesn't necessarily fill you as much as it would if you ate it as it should be.
I would say that having the pancakes once in a while, I might not syn them. But if you have them everyday, count some Syns for them.
I have known people to cut out bananas and they've lost more, they're a really stodgy fruit, and having too many can change how much someone loses.
I'm not by any means saying don't have them, but if you know you've been completely on plan with everything else, and you notice your losses change for the worse, cut the banana pancakes out?

Does that make sense or just confuse you even more?? lol
