Hi all,

I'm a newbie to slimming world and am looking for some in between meal snacks! Doesn't have to be anything too adventurous.

Thanks

Protein based snacks, like ham or boiled eggs, keep you full for longer and are handy to grab from the fridge. Or, to boost your superfree, how about fresh fruit or veg sticks and a yoghurt and herb dip.

Oh good! I loved boiled eggs
Do you mean make my own yoghurt dip or can you buy those too? Sorry clueless as far as dips and sauces go!

My go to snack is Tescos sliced cooked chicken. £2 a pack. Free. Plus a piece of fruit.

A nice balance of the protein and the sweetness of the fruit. Satisfying and keeps me full for quite a while. If I eat fruit on its own it makes me more hungry because of the sugar in it.

Thank you for sharing! Sounds like a good tip. I get very hungry too and like to snack! Seems there's a good variety of free snacks. Great stuff!

I make my own dip (have to be careful with shop bought ones). I mix up some fatfree natural yoghurt with some chopped mint, plenty of pepper and some mashed up roasted garlic (clove of garlic wrapped in some foil and roasted til soft in oven..approx 20mins)

One of my favourite free snacks is homemade smoked salmon pate/dip, eaten with slices of gala apple...delicious!

My recipe for my smoked salmon pate/dip is:

1 tub of quark
1 hot smoked salmon fillet
1 small pack of smoked salmon
1 small pot of prawns
salt and pepper
splash of lemon juice
Dill (fresh or dried)

Chuck the lot into a food processor and blitz until smooth.
Place into ramekins and keep in fridge.
Can also be frozen.

Serve with sliced apple or any veg crudites.

That sounds lovely Looby! Might have to give that a go

I've always got fruit stacked next to me, but I'm a fan of houmous and carrot/cucumber/pepper sticks.
And I've had the Tesco sliced chicken too like Sally-J, it usually does the trick for me. Either that or some ham
