Good luck Jo. I never made Sw last night I've got an infection somewhere (they're just not sure where) so I'm on rest til thins improve. Bit gutting as I'm sure I would have lost weight last night. Oh well there's always another week.

Good luck to all others weighing in!

Jill

Oh jill. Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Keep at it though and try and stay on (or near) plan and hopefully you'll be rewarded when you get to weigh in #hugs

Haha Jo, I would wish you luck but that doesn't come in to it - it's all about the hard work!!

But good luck all the same. Still in awe of all your badges, you have done so well. Is it still a thrill to loose when you have lost so much already?

My WI tonight - I feel heavy today - I am all belly (if that makes sense). My scales say I have STS (bad to weigh I know but I am part of a work fatclub) and after Friday's indulgence and last weeks big loss, I can live with that.

I am still at that stage where I can't WAIT to find out either way - loving going to meetings at the moment! I realise it won't always be that way and I will be starving myself all afternoon, not drinking anything, removing any surplus clothing and having a haircut/amputation to try and avoid the inevitable result, lol.
Haha bonnie. Have to say I still get a buzz out of a loss (never gets dull, trust me)!!

As for amputation before weigh in, know what you mean. Although I feel that might be a step too far, maybe, but I'm not above blowing my nose and cutting my toenails!!

Result...loss of 1.5lbs this afternoon. Chuffed with that. Now 11st 2. I can almost taste those 10s!! this week I shall be mostly avoiding walking under ladders, black cats and the cracks in the pavement, making offerings to the gods of weight loss in the vain hope of a good week next week (although feel my chances are going to be better if I superglue my mouth shut and go with bonnie's plan of amputation?!)

Well done Jo, good news! So close - you could do it by next week!

I put on 1lb this week :-(

Having to be firm with myself. I nearly got sucked into the downward spiral of 'it isn't working, it's not fair, what's the point!' (and did eat rather a lot of HiFi bars last night).

BUT

What a silly attitude. I have still lost 8lbs over 2 weeks. If that had been a 4 and a 4, or a 5 and a 3lbs loss each time, I would be on cloud 9. After a big loss like that I guess it was inevitable not to loose this week, and the gain may have been something to do with the dominoes (why did I do it!?).

Also, it is tempting to think 'right! free foods only this week!' and to overdo it.

So I am going to do what I never usually do, and keep calm and stick to the plan. Don't you think, keeping the faith is sometimes the hardest part of this diet.

Have a good week everybody. Might just pop over to the food dump now -it's Team Meeting time in 15 mins and it is catered - with French bread, cheese, ham, croissants and muffins. Not for me thanks!

Go you bonnie! Best attitude and great way to turn it around. I remember someone who was at target at my group saying that the key to her success wasn't how she'd dealt with the losses (those weeks are easy), but not throwing in the towel when she'd had a gain. That resonated with me as, in all the other attempts to shift weight (and I've tried plenty of times!), I'd made the mistakes of viewing SW as a temporary diet, that as soon as I'd lost weight I could forget and return to the way I ate before (that all so healthy way of eating crap and bingeing on crisps and cookies and, no surprises, going up to 18st!!). That and giving up and saying to myself when I fall off the wagon, oh well what's that the point, I might as well have a tonne of crisps and skip going to group for weeks/mths 'cos I'm ashamed andby the time I come up for air I've inhaled enough calories to sustain the western hemisphere and gained a couple of stone! somehow (don't know why) my head's been in a different place this time and, when I fall off the wagon, it's only for a little while and I'm able to draw a line in the sand and move on. You wouldn't throw out an entire vase of beautiful roses because one had drooped, so don't give up the entire week because one day/meal wasn't 'on plan' x

Hey all!

This week I put on 1.5lb so I'm back at 11st 2.5. I'm ok wih that as last week I was hoping for a STS but then with being ill I lost too much too quickly, plus I had cake (from Druckers) and a lovely savoury pie with lots of pastry! So worth it! I was good with my syns for the rest of the week as I didn't have any until I'd surpassed the total syns for the cake and pie.

I'm doing an SP week this week (with a banana thrown in for breakfast as I have to have it!) I had a curry last night and whereas I usually have rice, I just boiled a load of veg and I'm scared to say that I enjoyed it more than the rice!

Hope everyone's having a good week with the lovely weather!

Thanks Jo, great post. You are right. I could see myself on SW forever BUT FOR THE LACK OF WINE! I gather when you maintain you stay on the same no. of syns but increase the HEX - although I suppose if you are maintaining you can be a bit more flexible. Getting a bit ahead of myself I think!

Doh Spooney that's annoying but at least you know why.

Have you tried cauliflower rice? I was a skeptic until I tried it, it really is like real rice.

If you haven't, you basically break a cauli into florets, whiz in the food processer until in rice sized bits, then put in a bowl in the microwave covered in cling film (no water) and blitz for say 2 mins maximum.

It is quite 'dry' like real rice - I eat loads of it.

Also use white cabbage sliced thinly instead of spaghetti, or we have a julienne peeler and make courgette spaghetti. Surprised how well it works.

You'll soon have that little gain back off next week..and you enjoyed it so it was totally worth it.

I know what you mean about the rice, since being on Sw I can take or leave rice and pasta - too bland for me, like eating for the sake of it. I'd rather have veg and more protein (keeps me full - good job as I'm a miserable mare if I'm hungry!!)
