I like to add up my losses and any gains for the month and as long as overall I'm 'down' that month then that is progress.
Fluctuations can happen for many reasons - our time of the month, exercise, the odd slip up / increase in calories. But overall in a month it'll pan out.

Well done on the losses, Bex and Emily.

I'm a bit gutted this week to be honest.

Put on 1.5lb for absolutely no reason. Been 100% on plan...no more than 9 syns a day, and have written every morsel that has passed my lips down.

No point dwelling though....and I know that these things can (and do) happen from time to time for no reason.

So...came home from group and had a big old SW chilli on a bed of broccoli and cabbage.

Planning to 'speed' my way downwards on the scales.

Hope everyone has a good week x x

I was told at group today that you need to eat all your syns. If you don't your body will retain the fat. When you eat the syns you have extra calories that kick start your metabolism and you will burn more fat x

Is this true ?

I'm allowed up to 15 syns a day but average around 3-6 per day. Must be doing something right as the weight is coming off now. I only get weighed once a month and let my clothing tell me whats happening rather than go to meetings worried Im still on track.

Looby what do you average on syns through your journey?

I've always averaged around 8 when on plan well. Never been told you HAVE to eat your syns, but that it's advisable to eat some of your syns to stop yourself being too strict and falling off the wagon. it's about learning how to eat in the long term too so it's not realistic to restrict ourselves totally.

Looby ((hugs)) on the blip on the scale it'll soon move and you've done so well you know the bigger picture matters more than 1 week. We can both work toward a better week next week.

Thanks, PurpleJ....you're right. We've totally got this!

When I began at over 20 stone, I pretty much used all of my 15 syns daily.

As the weight has come off, and when I got to about 14 stone, I had to start cutting them back a little...maybe cutting to between 10-12 syns a day.

Now I'm even further into my journey, I try to stick to between 8-10 syns a day in order to continue losing a bit. The losses certainly don't come as easily now, but I know that I pretty much food optimise as simply the way I eat, rather than having to think too much about it.

It's my syns I still have to keep a track of, because if I don't jot them down, even the lowest of synned foods can soon add up!

I'm more annoyed this week because my 'blip' has taken me above my 8 stone award again...so when it comes off, it will be like getting my 8 stone award for the 3rd flippin' time! Enough already....I want to be heading to my 8 and a half...not yo-yo'ing around the 8!

Aaaaaand breathe!

I will just keep on going...it'll come off when it's good and ready!

Have a fab week everyone! x x x

Yes....I've had it twice before, but feel a fraud as I currently don't have it again...hoping to put it back on my signature next Tuesday!

Aww you are so not a fraud! This is the nature of weight it fluctuates. it's why they allow us a window around our target.
