Hi there!

I make loads of syn free soups. Any vegetables are good for soup so I tend to use whatever needs using up! I tend to make batches and freeze portions for later use.

My favourite is Butternut Squash and Onion with Chinese 5 Spice for a kick. I also just made leek and potato which was yummy.

Minestrone is my favourite, as it's very filling. Leek and potato is probable the most simple as it is literally leek and potatoes (and veg stock.) Carrot and coriander is good as well, thickened up with butter beans or chickpeas and blended.

Thanks both, all sounds lovely. I'm going to try veg soup for tomorrow with some roast chicken if there's any left from lunch.

latest copy of SW mag has a soup maker on offer, wondering whether to invest ......

I haven't got one but I know people who do and love them. I think I am a bit of a bah humbug about them i just think a pan and a b and blender can do the same but alot cheaper haha!

The chicken and pearl barley stew in the new magazine is really nice as well and makes loads - so that would be good to take to work

I'm in love with broccoli and cauliflower cheese soup at the moment but it will use a HEa or some syns for cheese.

I'm the same with the pan and blender lol

I've been on a soup mkaing binge the last few weeks, I've had a different one each week
Minestrone is always a favourite, and I've got carrot & coriander this week.
I've had a tomato & lentil one which was really nice too.

I'm a fan of the chunky soups and I feel like I'm eating something that way rather than just slurping it up lol

Wel I made a veg soup for yesterday's lunch, it was lovely. Kept hot in my soup bowl, lovely filling lunch.

I gave in and ordered a soupmaker! Cant wait for it to come, hubby said he will use it aswell - always a bonus!

Try This

I was experimenting with my soup maker yesterday and wanted a nice winter warming soup. I had carrots and sweet potatoes to make up. I made mine in the soup-maker but it should be just as easy to do in a pan and it's lush. Made enough for me and my daughter and seconds

2 * Sweet Potatoes peeled and cubed to approx. 1 cm size
2* Large Carrots peeled and cubed to approx. 1 cm size
1 x medium red onion diced small
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp mild chilli powder
1/2 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp salt
1000 ml chicken or vegetable stock

In the soup maker it takes about 20 minutes. I leave it chunky but would be nice pureed too. In a pan I reckon 45 minutes or so...? it's really good
