I bought the soup maker when it was in the SW Mag a while back, and must admit it's so easy to use, but then I never made soup before!
Today I made leek and potato made with sweet potato and was very nice. I always put some noodles in to bulk it out as not eating bread with it has been hard
thats a great idea

Has anyone tried speed tomato soup?

It's dead easy to make, just 2 tins of tomatoes (S), a tin of carrots (S), a tin of baked beans (P), 3 pickled onions (S), vegetable stock cube and half a pint of water. Simmer in a pot for 15mins and blend, that's it.
I made this today using fresh carrots instead of tinned, and added a bit of paprika. It was really tasty!

My husband bought me a Morphy Richards soup maker for Christmas but it started burning on the bottom and cutting out just on its second use. We took it back and got a refund. I know doing it on a pan is easy enough but it was nice that my husband was interested in using it and we thought we would be having lots of healthy soups. What make do you guys have?

this is a recipe I've made up and I am pretty sure its syn free,

BACON BEAN AND POTATO SOUP serves 4-6 generously

8 rashers extra trimmed lean bacon or bacon trimmed of all visible fat, grilled and chopped roughly, I grill it with fry light until its almost crisp

tin new potatoes drained and halved
1 raw potato peeled and cubed
1 tin chopped tomatoes
2/3 tins beans ie cannellini, borlotti, whatever you like I used 2 tins cannellini and a carton of black beans, rinsed and drained
1 onion
fry light spray
pinch garlic powder and dried thyme
squirt oil free tomato puree
black pepper
500 mls veg stock made up with 1 veg stock cube crumbled
I don't add salt as the stock and bacon are already salty, but you can add if you like
I also add a splash of balsamic vinegar and Worcestershire sauce during cooking

spray a saucepan or soup pan with fry light
fry onion until soft, add a splash of water to stop it browning
add tomatoes beans and stock and other ingredients except bacon, add it last
bring to boil and then reduce and simmer
add bacon
cook on low heat for about 25 mins until potato soft and beans heated through

you can blitz but I don't , I like the chunky texture!
you might need to add more water as it does get very thick, depends how you like it!
nothing to stop you adding more sp foods ie celery, carrot etc

enjoy! I am pretty sure its syn free, please let me know if not!!

I also bought a soup maker but it broke down, I got a replacement under warranty but to be honest, I prefer making it in a pan so I can taste it as I go, for saltiness, taste etc
I have a stick blender and its just as quick to make it on the hob!
I feel I have more control over it

Sounds lovely Kazzy! I'm a big fan of chunky soups. A tin of baked beans works well in most

The soup sounds really nice Kazzy, and it is all syn free but one suggestion would be add more speed maybe. You've got 1 onion and a tin of tomatoes which wouldn't be quite 1/3 of the dish
