Weight variation, time of day.

So I get up at 6am, wander into the bathroom, have a pee, and on the way across the room to the wash basin step on the scales.

Mid evening, having eaten around 6.30pm, I go up for a bath or shower, depending how the mood takes me, and when I've dried off, again, just because they're there I once again step on the scales.

There's usually about 4lb difference.

Now I can understand that during the day I eat and drink and this adds weight,
but how comes the body burns off that weight in the seven most restful hours of the day?

If I go for a two hour bike ride I come back absolutely shattered, but I still weigh the same.

I think it's something to do with fluid retention during the day which disperses overnight when we are horizontal...

I weigh myself first thing in the morning as I know I retain fluid through the day which leads to me visiting the loo about three times during the night. I agree it must have something to do with lying down.

We always seem to weigh more in the mornings. I always thought it was because we didn't have anything to eat or drink overnight like we do throughout the day. I'm usually much heavier at the end of the day and then lightest in the mornings!
