Hello all, I'm Ali, 21 and a student!
My dieting history has been a bit up and down. When I was around 16 I hit my highest weight ever, 230lbs...Through excessive dieting and counting calories (1200 a day!) I got my weight down to 130lbs but was miserable. After the death of my mother I started to gain again, but felt fine until I came to uni. The drinking, takeaways and canteen food has caught up with me and I was horrified to step on the scale 3 days ago and see I was back up to 215lbs and a size 14/16. I had been deluding myself that I was still a size 12 and 165/170lbs and that I was fine. That step on the scale was a massive wake up call and after a bit of crying I impulsively signed up to slimming world online.
My goal weight is 150lbs - which I was comfortable at (as i'm 5'8) and felt lean but still had some curves last time I was there.
I'v never tried SW before, but based on a lot of people I know it is really really great and you don't finish each day feeling deprived or restricted by what you can eat so hopefully I'll start dropping those pounds soon!
My first goal is to be under 200lbs by my birthday in late August so wish me luck, and I'm really excited to get to know you all!
